Harnett New York, New York The program of the Insurance, Negligence and Compensation Law Section for the New York and London meetings comes to grasp with the current issues and problems that concern both lawyers and the insurance industry - proposals for universal health insurance; significant trends in the interpretation of life insurance contracts; the increasing problems in professional and products liability litigation; the concern for liability resulting from environmenta! damage; the practical and legal aspects of skyjackings; and automobile no fault proposals and highway safety problems. The Monday, July 5 meeting in New York will feature a report on A Look at the Proposals for National Health Insurance presented by Warren R. Whitted, of HEW. Taking cognizance of the increased interest in the consumer's rights, the Monday afternoon session will include Prof. Robert E. Keeton in a discussion Honoring Reasonable Expectations In the Interpretation of Life and Health Insurance Contracts. He will be followed by Marshall F. Denenholz of New York, whose paper is entitled, Contracts for the Wayfaring Fool. The conclusion of that Monday afternoon program will be by Edward L. Lascher, of Ventura, California, who will speak on the Imposition of Punitive Damages in the Enforcement of Insurance Contracts. The Monday, July 5 program will also feature a trial demonstration involving the liability of an architect and engineer. The witness will be the Capitol architect, George Malcolm White, A.I.A.; counsel for the plaintiff will be David I. Sindell, of Cleveland, Ohio; the defendant will be represented by Harley J. McNeal, also of Cleveland. The Tuesday, July 6 breakfast meetings will provide an analysis of Cancellation and Non-Renewal in the Property Insurance Field by George F. Reed, former Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner and a review of Federal Legislative Proposals in the Field of Workmen's Compensation by Andrew Kalmykow of New York. Environmental and Liability Aspects of Nuclear Power Plants will be explored at a buffet continental breakfast and general session the same day. The participants will include James A. Dooley of Chicago, Illinois, on Concern for the Public, followed by Howard K. Shapar, Assistant General Counsel for Regulation, AEC, Public and Environmental Safety Considerations. Then Arthur C. Gehr of Chicago, Illinois will discuss, Compliance with Government Regulations and Protecting Private Nuclear Industry from Liability. For a conclusion, Roger J. Fisher, of Hartford, Connecticut, will report on Liability Insurance and Indemnity. Also, on Tuesday morning, An Insurance Primer on Social Problems will be presented by the Committee on Public Regulations on Insurance Law. The speakers will include George K. Bernstein, Federal Insurance Administrator - HUD, on The Basic Concepts of Insurance and the Nature of the Social Problems. Then Harry A. Lansman of Chicago, Illinois will evaluate Problems Involving First Party Situations, and Hon. Herbert S. Denenberg, Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner, will discuss Problems Involving Third Party Situations. Tuesday afternoon, July 6, Charles H. Krause of New York, William P. Butler of Chicago and John T. Adams of Philadelphia, will discuss Problems of Interpreting Aviation Insurance Policies from the respective viewpoints of plaintiffs, defendants and insurers. On the same afternoon, the INCL's Maritime Insurance Law and Environmental Litigation Committees will present a joint program on Domestic and Foreign Aspects of Marine Pollution in which Nicholas J. Healy, Gordon W. Paulsen and James J. Higgins, all of New York, and John C. McHose of Los Angeles will participate. July 7, Wednesday, the Section's program continues with its awareness of matters of concern to the public. At a joint breakfast of the INCL Committee on Aviation and Space Law with the ABA Standing Committee on Aeronautical Law, skyjacking and the practical problems it presents will be discussed by William R.
