      CONFERENCE ON PROBATION AND PAROLE

  The Fourth Annual Conference of the Pennsylvania Sttk&Aociation
)f Probation and Parole will be held February 114A192K,'If;Wilkes-
Barre. A large attendance is anticipated. An actbf th p,,ate 'Tgisla-
ture authorizes the various counties of the State i td paf 4e expenses
)f the various probation officials at these annual conferences, A most
interesting program has been prepared. There will be addresses by
the President, Leland J. Cubertson of Meadville, Tkry A.  Fuller
)f Wilkes-Barre, Hon John A. McLaughry  of Mercer, Miss Edith M.
1,verett of the White-Williams Foundation, Miss Florence L. Sanville,
S4ecretary Penna. Committee on Penal Affairs, and others. The Con-
!erence Question Box will be a feature at two of the meetings. All phases
3f the work will be considered.
  The Pennsylvania Prison Society takes a just pride in the success of
this Conference, inasmuch as by the instigation of our Society in 1920 a
unumber of such officials were brought together at Sleighton Farm. At
this meeting it was decided to form a permanent organization which
sholid meet annually.
  Following these meetings, at the same place will be held the Penn-
Vlvania Conference on Social Welfare. Their program  is rich and
varied and the meetings continue till the afternoon of Feb. 16. Among
the speakers are Miss Grace Abbott, Dr. John Lovejoy Elliott, Captain
0* B3. Scully, Rev. John A. Ryan and many other speakers of renown.
