Thank you for inviting me to speak at Pace Law School. Before I begin my formal remarks on the legal status of daily fantasy sports, I would like to provide a brief background on myself and my experience in the sports law field. After graduating from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Michigan Law School, I began my career by practicing in the antitrust group of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher * Professor Marc Edelman (Marc@MarcEdelman.com) is an Associate Professor of Law at the Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College, City University of New York. He is also a summer adjunct professor at Fordham University School of Law and a columnist for Forbes SportsMoney. Professor Edelman advises numerous fantasy sports businesses on a wide range of legal issues, including matters related to sports intellectual property.
