EDITOR'S NOTE
This is Media Law & Policy's first annual Student Issue. The
four articles in the Fall 1996 edition of Media Law & Policy are
written by students of New York Law School. The articles
evolved out of the students' work in Professor Michael H.
Botein's Media Law Seminar.
Media Law &Policy and the Communications Media Center
at New York Law School provide a forum for discussion and
information on Media and Communications Law. The
Communications Media Center produces seminars and roundtable
discussions on important communications and media issues.
Earlier this year, the Communications Media Center producd a
panel on the FCC's First Interconnection Order. Recently, the
Communications Media Center produced a panel on the future of
cable franchising. Media Law & Policy often transcribes these
events produced by the Communications Media Center for the
benefit of our readers.
Media Law & Policy encourages our readers to further
explore and contribute to the important work being done by
Media Law & Policy and the Communications Media Center at
New York Law School.
Thanks are extended to our sponsors, the Communications
Media Center, Dean Harry Wellington and the administration of
New York Law School for their continued support. A special
thanks is extended to our outgoing Editorial Board, Jordan
Friedman, John S. Clark, Allen Dolberg, David Rosenwasser and
Gamal D. Hennessy.
