It is the first number published by John Wright & Sons of Bristol, who I am sure will carry on the tradition so ably started by their pre- decessors. This is no criticism of past publications but an indication that it is proposed by the editors that there shall be a new policy from now onwards. This policy will include amongst other things a series of regular features together with a correspon- dence column, which is one of the features of many journals, from the point of view of giving the readers an opportunity of voicing their own opinions whether in agreement with or in contradiction to articles which are published in the journal. The Council of the British Academy of Forensic Sciences thought that with the appearance of the long awaited Brodrick Com- mittee Report readers ofthe journal MEDICINE, SCIENCE, AND THE LAW would appreciate reviews of the report from both the legal and the medical points of view.* Dr. John Havard reviews the medical aspects of the report while Mr. E. A. Williams reviews the legal side.
