The Hyatt Embarcadero Regency Hotel, located on the San Francisco waterfront, will serve as the headquarters for the meeting with the educational program being held at the University of California, Hastings College of Law, located near the San Francisco Civic Center. The heart of the meeting will be two days of trial skills development patterned on the widely acclaimed clinical teaching techniques of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. The program is based on the belief that the lawyer develops trial skills in large part by participating and by observing others par- ticipating in real or simulated trial court situations. You on Video Registrants will be assigned to small groups where simulated trial problems will be handled by each registrant. All participants will be given the opportunity to have their performance videotaped for later viewing and critique. Team leaders for each group will consist of experienced trial lawyers, many of whom have been in- volved in the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. In addition, each registrant will have the opportunity to observe acknowledged leaders of the trial bar demonstrating their varied approaches to different trial problems. Within each group there will be an inter- change of views between participants concerning the strategies and tactics of handling specific trial problems. Good Times An exciting social program is planned utilizing the uni- que setting of the San Francisco Bay Area. Thursday night, November 10, there will be a reception for registrants and guests at the Embarcadero Regency. Fri- .day evening there will be a cocktail cruise on San Fran- cisco Bay, ending with dinner across the Bay in Tiburon. Saturday night will be the Section Annual Dinner-Dance. On Sunday the meeting will conclude with a tour of the Napa Valley wine country, including the opportunity to test the wares of some of California's most famous wineries. (Continued on page 10) Copyright © 1977 American Bar Association Lundquist, Corboy Elected at Chicago Weyman 1. Lundquist, San Francisco, was chosen at Chicago to serve as Chairman-Elect. He will succeed Bill Manning as Chairman next August in New York. Lundquist is an experienced trial lawyer whose prac- tice has involved extensive litigation in several states. He is a charter member of the Section and has served con- tinuously on the Council. Philip H. Corboy, Chicago, was elected vice-chair- man. Corboy has been on the Section Council for two years and has served as president of the Chicago Bar Association and of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Associa- tion. Elected to the Council were Adrian M. Foley, Jr., Newark; Morton R. Galane, Las Vegas; Edward W. Mullinix, Philadelphia; John R. Tomlinson, Seattle; and David C. Weiner, Cleveland. Adrian M. Foley, Jr. has had extensive trial experi- ence in both civil andcriminal cases. He has been pres- ident of the New Jersey State Bar Association and has served as a member of the ABA House of Delegates and Board of Governors. He has served a one-year term on the Council of the Section. (Continued on page 4) New Editor The new editor of Litigation News is David A. Saichek, a member of Gaines & Saichek, S.C., Milwaukee. Saichek recently completed a term on the ex- ecutive council of ABA Young Lawyers Division. He is past President of Young Lawyers of Wiscon- sin and of Milwaukee Jr. Bar Association, first place winner of the coveted ABA-Young Lawyers Comprehensive -Award of Achievement for that term. In accepting the post of Editor from Section Chairman William Manning, Saichek stressed the need for litigation lawyers to keep in touch with the activities of their ABA Section on Litigation.
