As we write it, we've only made it through two weeks of classes. But it is always good to be back in the classroom with energetic students and a fresh clean slate for our courses. At ILTL, we've been working on our upcoming conferences. Emory Law School has graciously offered to host the spring conference in March 2017. It will focus on the new ABA Standard 314 requiring law schools to use both formative and summative assessment. Specifically, the conference will provide practical and useful suggestions for ways professors can incorporate formative assessment methods in their large classes. Next summer, we'll be returning to the University of Arkansas Little Rock Bowen School of Law for a conference on Teaching Cultural Competency and Other Professional Skills Suggested by ABA Standard 302. If you've got some ideas on that front, be on the lookout for a call for proposals. And if you don't, then keep an eye out for the registration information.
