The editors of the Letter wish to express their thanks to those members of the Section who expressed their views for their gracious comments. Section members are urged to let us have their suggestions and comments about the Letter so that it can be of maximum interest and use to members of the Section. O'Leary Division of Legal Practice and Education American Bar Association 1155 East 60th Street Chicago, Illinois 60637 SECTION SCHEDULES FIRST NATIONAL INSTITUTE ON EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY The Committee on National Institutes of our Section, which is headed by Fred W. Elarbee, Jr., and Warren Woods, has announced the Section's first National Institute will be held at the Washington Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C., on Friday and Saturday, March 28 and 29, 1969. Among the subjects on the program are: Overview on Equal Employment Opportunity, EEOC Practice and Procedure, EEOC Litigation and Mediation, The Role of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance in EEO Law, Sex in EEO, Non-Governmental Remedies for Employment Discrimination, and EEO for the Next Four Years. All of the speakers at the Institute are outstanding practitioners, academicians and Government officials in the labor law field. The luncheon speaker on the first day of the Institute will be W. Willard Wirtz, former Secretary of Labor. In addition, the Institute will feature Congressional leaders who will look at the outlook in EEO for the immediate future. The full program for the Institute and information about the cost of and registration for the Institute has been sent to all members of the Section. If you can possibly attend, it will be well worth it! JOHN W. MORGAN NEW SECTION DELEGATE TO HOUSE OF DELEGATES John W. Morgan of Boston, Mass. has been designated by the Council to serve as our Section Delegate to the House of Delegates in place of the late Marion Plant. Mr. Morgan, a past chairman of the Section and member of the Council of the Section for many years, has served the Section with distinction for a long time. PRELIMINARY PLANS FOR DALLAS MEETING Preliminary planning is underway for the meetings of our Section in Dallas on August 1I and 12, 1969. The Council of the Section will meet on August 9 and 10. Section meetings and accommodations for Section members will be in the Hilton Inn at Dallas. The Section is particularly fortunate to have been assigned to the Hilton Inn since we understand its facilities are extremely comfortable and attractive, and that it is a relatively short distance from the airport and downtown section of Dallas. Plans for the agenda of the Section meeting are only in the process of being drafted. However, it is expected that the program will center on the theme of a forward view of labor relations in the Nixon administration. Efforts are being made to obtain as speakers for the meeting top officials in the labor area in the Nixon administration. The Section will be advised of the program for the meeting in a later edition of the LRL Letter. The Dallas meeting promises to be a very good one professionally and socially. All Section members are urged to register for the meeting as soon as possible. SECTION COMMITTEES FOR 1969-70 TO BE ANNOUNCED BEFORE AUGUST 1969 MEETING The Chairman and Chairman-elect of the Section have an- nounced that they plan to appoint Section Committees for the 1969-70 year before the annual meeting of ABA in August, 1969. This will afford each of the committees the opportunity to meet in Dallas in August and formulate preliminary pl ils for the ensuing year at that time. Ill
