COURT
SERVICE

EDITOR'S NOTE
Welcome to the first edition of the
Administrative Court Office Newsletter.
It is hoped, in future, to produce
quarterly Newsletters to keep you, our
customers, informed of matters which
affect the service we provide and to
advise you of any changes to practice
or ways in which you can assist us to
provide a better service.
In this first edition, amongst other
items, there is news about a
forthcoming office move, much needed
staff increases, a general reminders
section and information about contact
numbers.
I hope you will find this newsletter both
informative and interesting, and
welcome any suggestions for future
articles.

THE OFFICE IS EXPANDING!
As you may be aware, the work of the
Administrative Court Office has

increased by 25% in the past 18
months and it is predicted that the
workload will continue to grow for the
foreseeable future.
It has therefore been a busy time for
the Office, which has been under
staffed for some time. However, that
situation is set to change with a
number of new staff being brought in
over the coming months to help
support the current workload and to
prepare it to meet the challenging
times ahead.
In total, we will be taking on an
additional 15 staff of varying grades,
ranging from lawyers to messengers.
This will help us to process work more
quickly and to improve the quality of
the services we currently provide.
Recruitment has already started, with
some posts due to be filled as early as
the end of this month, but it is unlikely
that we will be able to fill all vacancies
before March 2003. The recruitment
exercise will initially put a lot of strain
on the office whilst our new staff are
being trained, so please bear with us.
Improvements in service should begin
to be seen around the turn of the year.

- We are grateful to the Administrative Court Office for permission to reproduce its newsletters.
