We must not be afraid of new technology or new ideas. Instead, we should use these evolving technologies in ways that best serve our legal community. In particular, our profession must adjust itself to accommodate the widespread use of computers in our professional life. In this information age, computer technology provides us with access to greater amounts of information at speeds many of us never contemplated. Our challenge is to access these vast amounts data in reliable, efficient, and meaningful ways. Both lawyers and judges should develop the skills necessary to utilize this information with the goal of using it to make better ultimate decisions and judgments.
