5 J. Quantitative Criminology 1 (1989)

handle is hein.journals/jquantc5 and id is 1 raw text is: Journal of Quantitative Criminology, Vol. 5, No. 1, 1989

From the Editor
As we enter our fifth year in print, the Journal of Quantitative Criminology
continues to grow. Much of the credit belongs to my Associate Editors,
William Bowers, John Laub, and Paul Tracy, and to my Editorial Assistant,
Ellen Neuman; to the members of the Editorial Board and the many scholars
who have reviewed manuscripts for us; to the staff at Plenum Press including
my Production Editor, James Langlois; and of course, to the many authors
who have graced our pages with their fine research.
Each new volume brings some degree of change. To continue the
rotation of the Editorial Board, I must sadly say farewell to Harold Votey
and Franklin Zimring but welcome Kenneth Land of Duke University,
Joseph Weis of the University of Washington, and Cathy Widom of Indiana
University. Also this year, we will be publishing a number of exciting papers,
including a fascinating special issue. But I shall not ruin the surprise by
giving away details.
Finally, I gratefully acknowledge the abiding support of the journal's
readership. Without readers, the efforts of so many people involved in the
journal would not be so significant.
