handle is hein.journals/intjsemi12 and id is 1 raw text is: EDITORIAL

It is with great pleasure to inform you that the International Journalfor the
Semiotics of Law is now officially being published by Kluwer Academic
Publishers. This is the first issue under Kluwer. As you well know Kluwer
is a prestigious international academic publishing house. We are honored
that they have taken on the task of publishing our journal.
There will be no other changes in the functioning of the journal. The
journal remains the official journal of the International Association for the
Semiotics of Law. There has been a smooth transition. We welcome the
prestige, support, and advertisement capabilities of Kluwer. Our journal
will attain even greater respectability and prestige with them.
On behalf of the Board and I'm sure most of the readers I want to
once again thank Bernard Jackson for his work on the first 11 years of the
journal. His dedication and tireless, committed and creative energy helped
establish the new discipline of the semiotics of law. He, along with the
active support of the Board, has brought the journal to where it is now in
the international community. I look forward as Editor to continue to push
for scholarly material focused on semiotics and law. A number of exciting
special issues are ahead of us: Bobby Kevelson; Italian Analytical School;
Semiotics and Law Down-Under.
I want to take this opportunity to provide a special thank you to the
Board members who have been reviewers for the articles. Their highly
professional reviews have made my duties as Editor easier and have con-
tributed to the excellence of the journal. And finally, let us take a moment
in remembrance of Bobby Kevelson who recently passed away. She will
not be forgotten.
