Unable to substantiate rumors
and hearsay reports of cheating on
the January Securities Regulation
exam, the Administrative Board of
the Law School has refused to yield
to student pressure to issue grades
of pass or fail, instead of letter
grades, in the course.
Louis Loss, the Securities Regu-
lation professor, and Assistant
Dean Stephen M. Bernardi, secre-

indicated early this week that they

A Federal District Courtjudge in
the Southern District of New York
has denied a motion by Cravath,
Swaine & Moore to dismiss a suit
against the New York law firm by
a former associate alleging that he
was denied the opportunity to be-
come a partner because of his re-
ligion and national origin.
U.S. District Judge Lee P. Gag-
liardi, in denying the motion to
dismiss January 12, noted that the
plaintiff John A. Lucido had stated
a cause of action against his former
employer and rejected Cravath's
arguments that law partnerships
are not covered by Title VII of the
Civil Rights Act.
