PPR is disseminated globally and it is a purely international journal in scope, philosophy, and practice. PPR encourages multidis- ciplinary approaches. Dedicated to the ideal of collaboration between police research and practice, the journal welcomes collaborative work between scholars and practitioners as well as research based contributions of practitioners. This issue carries good news. Research and practice collaboration in policing has become more respected and sought after. Readers will find an announcement of a meeting of International Police Executive Symposium, IPES, www.ipes.info (PPR affili- ated with IPES); It will be hosted in Washington DC by George Washington University (8-13 August 2016). We are expecting a big slice of the globe in the meeting, with researchers and practitioners assembling in a most congenial venue, to discuss, debate, interact, and exchange views on issues of research and practice in policing. The mission, mandate, and aspiration of PPR are carried forward by two book series, 'Advances in Police Theory and Practice' and 'Interviews with Global Leaders in Policing, Courts and Prisons'. PPR readers are invited to contribute to both the series and thereby to the bigger cause of enrichment of practice by research and vice versa in the world of polic- ing. I am glad to announce that, apart from interviews with police leaders, judges, and prison executives, we have just added a new series on prosecutors and defense attorneys. The first volume on prosecutors and defense attorney will be published this year. As we begin the new year for the journal it must be reiterated that PPR is what the authors, reviewers, and the editors bring to it. We strive for contributions befitting our mission and goal. In the upcoming Annual Meeting of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences in (Denver, Colorado) in March we shall announce winners of the Best Paper Award and the Runner-Up for 2015. We wish our readers, editors including the Commentating Editor of the Issue 1, reviewers and last but not the least our authors as well as book reviewers A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR. Dilip K.
