THE PUBLIC LAND

       LAW DIGEST

With this issue the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation is
changing the name of the ROCKY MOUNTAIN MINERAL LAW
REVIEW to the PUBLIC LAND AND RESOURCES LAW DIGEST.
This change was made in order to reflect the broad and expanded scope
of materials reprinted or abstracted and indexed in this publication over
the past years. In addition to publishing materials on mining, oil and
gas, and water law, the PUBLIC LAND AND RESOURCES LAW
DIGEST will expand its coverage of public land law in the areas of
grazing, timber, and environmental law insofar as they affect
commercial resource users of public and-private lands.
From its inception as the ROCKY MOUNTAIN MINERAL LAW
REVIEW, the purpose of the publication has been to reprint or abstract
selected articles and index all articles from all of the various law reviews
and other legal periodicals across the country which contain a wealth of
literature on mining, oil and gas, water, public land and environmental
law. The contents of nearly all the law reviews and legal periodicals are
reviewed by the Editorial Board in determining those articles to be
reprinted or abstracted. . All of the resource-related articles are indexed
by general subject matter. This material would otherwise be unavailable
to attorneys, but through this digest-type publication, attorneys
practicing in the fields of public land and natural resources law are
exposed to nearly all of the related material published in these legal
periodicals.
The approach of the REVIEW and now the PUBLIC LAND AND
RESOURCES LAW DIGEST is three-fold:
Reprints of those articles published during the preceding six months,
which the Editorial Board believes should be read in full by
practitioners, make up the first part of each issue.
Abstracts of those articles covering subjects on which practitioners
   should have some knowledge.
Indices on all resource-related articles published during the
preceding six months. The Subject Index is separate for Public Land
Law, Mineral Law, and Water Law. The Index of Public Land Law is
new and is designed to cover the expanded public land and
environmental law materials related to natural resources. The Article
Index arranges all articles alphabetically by title, and the Author
   Index by author's name.
Collectively, the issues of the REVIEW and now the DIGEST provide
the natural resources practitioner with his must reading along with a
complete index of articles on public land, minerals and water law from
January 1, 1962, through the date of the materials covered in the most
recent issue.
