in- from the Press, there are nbne that are advocating the cause
of freedom in religion.
There are a few editors who have nobly come out to lay before the
publick the Tyranny, Oppression, and deception that are carried on
under the cloak of religin, there are others that are engaged in an una-
vailing controversy abhut doctrines and ceremonies.
In the Advocate an attempt will be made to lay before the publick
the true principles of religious freedom ; that we may know when our
conduct is founded on freedom and when it isnot, and surely we cannot
be too well informed on this subject.
Arguiments in ftvour of free meetings for religious exercise will be
inserted, with all the information that can be collected respecting the
progress of such meetings.
Doctrinal and ceremonial controversy will not ho admitted; but
these proceedings in the religious world ca!culated to injure or !,-
troy our liberties will be noticed.
