There are a few editors who have nobly come out to lay before the publick the Tyranny, Oppression, and deception that are carried on under the cloak of religin, there are others that are engaged in an una- vailing controversy abhut doctrines and ceremonies. In the Advocate an attempt will be made to lay before the publick the true principles of religious freedom ; that we may know when our conduct is founded on freedom and when it isnot, and surely we cannot be too well informed on this subject. Arguiments in ftvour of free meetings for religious exercise will be inserted, with all the information that can be collected respecting the progress of such meetings. Doctrinal and ceremonial controversy will not ho admitted; but these proceedings in the religious world ca!culated to injure or !,- troy our liberties will be noticed. VON4 The ADVOCATE will be published on the first and fftoeath of each month on a half sheet of paper in pamphlet form, containing eight pages. For the eight numbers to be published this year, thirty seven and a half cents; payment as to time and manner will be made as easy as pos- sible. Subscribers disapproving of the Advocate after receiving the three first numbers, may return them to the publisher and receive back their pay. But those who do not return the thr-je first numbers before the fourth is published will be considered subscribers for the eight numbers. Orders and communications post paid will be attended to if left at the Post-Office, or at the subscriber's shop on North Street near the Bridge.
