Themes for the 1993 contests are either Economic Issues in Divorce or Family Law and Cultural Diversity. Priority for the awards will be given to articles dealing with the contest themes. However, the reviewing boards may make the awards to superior articles dealing with any relevant family law issue. Meyer Elkin Essay Contest This contest was established in the name of the first editor of the Family and Conciliation Courts Review. The winning essay is published in the Review, and winners receive an honorarium and a certificate presented at the annual meeting. The deadline for submission of articles for the current contest is March 15, 1993. Manuscripts should be submitted to the Meyer Elkin Essay Contest, 6320 Mariquita St., Long Beach, CA 90803. Submissions should be no longer than 20 typewritten, double-spaced pages. Entries will be judged by a panel from the editorial board, and the best submissions will also be published in the Review. Family Law Law School Essay Contest This contest is open to all students attending law schools in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Australia, and New Zealand. To submit your manuscript, send no more than 30 typewritten, double-spaced pages to: Hugh McIsaac, Editor, FCCR 6320 Mariquita St. Long Beach, CA 90803 Entries will be judgedby a panel from the FCCR Editorial Board. Winning essay(s) will be published in Family and Conciliation Courts Review. Winner(s) will receive a $300 honorarium and certificate. All contest entries must be postmarked no later than Monday, May 24, 1993. Winner(s) will be announced in the January 1994 issue of Family and Conciliation Courts Review.
