Keith Cooprider Restorative Practices in Institutional Settings and at Release: Victim Wrap Around Programs 1 6 Debate over the extent to which victims should be included in criminal justice processes continues to divide scholars, practitioners, offend- ers, victims, and other correctional advocates. The author describes Victim Wrap Around services incorporated by several state correctional systems to carry recognition of victims into the prisoner reentry process. Martha Henderson Hurley Pono Kaulike: Reducing Violence with Restorative Justice and Solution-Focused Approaches 23 Pono Kaulike is a pilot program in Hawaii for people who plead guilty to criminal offenses, the people hurt by the crimes, and their supporters that evolved to apply solution-focused brief therapy for groups and for people who meet individually with facilitators without the participa- tion of other parties. The authors reviewed those involved in this program between 2002 and 2007 to see how participants viewed restorative interventions that did not require face-to-face meetings among all of the involved parties. The authors also compare recidivism results between offenders in Pono Kaulike and a control group. Lorenn Walker, Leslie Hayashi Estimating the Impact of Kentucky's Felon Disenfranchisement Policy on 2008 Presidential and Senatorial Elections 28 This study estimates voting preferences of disenfranchised voters via a survey administered to a stratified random sample of Kentucky's pro- bationers and parolees prior to the November 2008 election. Gennaro E Vito, J. Eagle Shutt, Richard Tewksbury The Effect of Participatory Management on Internal Stress, Overall Job Satisfaction,3 and Turnover Intention among Federal Probation Officers 33 As a potential solution to employee turnover faced by probation executives, this study examines the effect of participatory management on turnover intention by using aggregate survey data from federal probation line officers in three states. Although participatory climate showed no significant direct effect, it indirectly affected turnover and played an important role in reducing stress and enhancing overall job satisfac- tion, which in turn reduced turnover intention.
