It has been an honor to serve as Editor-in-Chief for Employee Responsibilities and Rights
Journal for the past decade. Due to the efforts of our dedicated Editorial Board members
over this time, we have strengthened the international scope of our contributions; in 2011,
more than 60% of submitted manuscripts came from North America, while all continental
regions (except Antarctica!) have been represented over recent years in increasing num-
bers. A critical and academically rigorous focus on various aspects of the employment rela-
tionship remains a global imperative.
I have had the pleasure of working with an incredible group of people over my tenure,
including the editorial staff at SpringerNature. My heartfelt thanks and admiration go to
Victor Devinatz; as Editor of our Perspectives section, he continues to curate an excep-
tional and wide-ranging set of essays and commentaries. I was very fortunate to work with
two astute and supportive Associate Editors - first, Patricia Simpson and, most recently,
Justine Ferrer - and express my sincere gratitude for all their contributions.
My sincere thanks also to both past and present members of our Editorial Board and
others who kindly give their time to provide reviews; it is the generosity, sincerity and
integrity of their service that enables the work of Employee Responsibilities and Rights
Journal to continue. Finally, and importantly, thank you to all the authors whom have con-
tributed over this time; it has been my pleasure to work with you and present your work.
In closing, I extend my support and best wishes to the incoming Editor-in-Chief, Jack
Howard. I very much look forward to where he will take the Journal next.
