confirm the significance of the issue on the political agenda. For sports governance

special issue, Deconstructing Match-fixing, comes to light to address this issue.
Systematizing the evidence presented along the contributions, this introductory article
attempts to dispel some 'myths' in the official preventive narrative, offers some lessons

establishing more evidence-based public policies and educational campaigns.
