XII The Common Law Society is a voluntary non-profit association founded in March 1998 by the students and professors of the Law Faculty of Charles University in Prague. It is open to everybody - students, tea- chers, academics, legal practitioners and anyone else interested in Anglo-American law, history and legal culture. It tries to bring its members and representatives of the legal community together through orga- nizing both formal academic activities - seminars and lectures given by domestic and foreign professors, as well as social events - meetings and discussions, excursions to state institutions and law firms, cheese- and-wine evenings and trips to famous places of Czech history.
