Steve Harris, Law Day Committee Chai man, states that reservations are being re- ceived daily, but hopes for an upswing in ticket sales within the next two weeks. Engraved invitations have been sent to more than 700 people, including all students faculty members, alumni and local dignatar- ies. However, so far only about 40 replies have been received. This means that sales have only reached the one-third mark toward the break-even poiht of 125 tickets. Thus, all students are urged to make their reser- vations within the next two weeks, so that final plans can be completed. If 125 tickets are'not sold, the SBA, which is sponsoring the dance, may be faced with a severe financial deficit, which coul impair its activities in the near future. Affairs of this type have been held all too seldom at the law school and in the college community generally. If we are to see more of them, it is imperative that the student body lend its support to the Barristers' Ball, which promises to be a fine evening's entertainment. Tickets for the evening's activities cost only $10.00, and include all refresh- ments, especially liquor, mixes and set-ups, as well as other refreshments. Meyer Davis' Society Orchestra will, play continuously LASOK SPEAKS FRI. Dr. Dominic Lasok, Visiting Professor of Law, will deliver an address to the stu- dent body on Friday, April 21 at 10:00 a.m. in the Campus Center Little Theatre. His topic..wrlZLbe: Communist Law. This is the second in a series of lectures by Dr. Lasok. In the fall of this term, the professor from Exeter University in Great Britain deliver- ed an address to the law student body on the throughout the evening. Its repertojre will include all types of music, from swing to big beat to rook and roll and progress- ive jazz. Tickets may be obtained by mailing the reservation fee with the self-addressed en- velope which all law students have received; they may also be purchased from Steve Harris personally, or next week from representat- ives in each of the law school classes. SBA NOMINATES CANDIDATES- FRI. The next Student Bar Association meet- ing will be held on Friday, April 21 at 11:00 am. in Bryan A. The SBA nominating committee will at that time present a slate of nominees for offices for the 1967-68 term, after which the floor will be thrown open for nominations for the offices of Pres- ident, Vice-President, Secretary-Treasurer and for membership on the Student Bar Coun- oil. Elections will be held on May 9, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. To 4ualify for ar of these offices, one must be a full-time law student for the entire year in which he will serve. By custom, nominees for President and Vice- President have come from the rising senior class, while nominees for the Secretary- Treasurer post have come from the rising second year class. Three members of the Council will be elected from the combined second and third year classes. One addit- ional meber of the Council will be appoint- ed next fall from the incoming freshman class. According to the SBA Constitution, all three officers will be elected by a majority of the votes cast, while Council members may be elected by a plurality.
