Editor's Note
When Criminal Justice Policy Review was first established the founders
indicated that they wished to publish articles written by scholars committed
to the study of criminal justice policy. In addition to the traditional manuscript
and book reviews the journal is also committed to publishing special features
such as invited commentaries, transcripts of significant panels or meetings,
position papers, and legislation.
In this issue we publish the first two parts of a four part dialogue. The subject
addressed by the participants is the type of dispositions juveniles receive when
processed through the juvenile justice system. We invite your written com-
ments, pro and con, on the first two parts of the dialogue.
Criminal Justice Policy Review anticipates publishing additional dialogues
in future issues. If you have a specific subject for inclusion in our dialogue
series please contact us so we can help develop the idea. We believe the
purpose of a journal such as Criminal Justice Policy Review is to disseminate
information as well as to generate discussion about developments and ideas.
