Committee chairmen for 1974/75 who were in attendance presented short summations of their committees' year's activities. Major discussion centered on the proposed Bylaws. Following a vote of favorable acceptance on the Bylaws, which, under Robert's Rules of Order (3rd ed. rev. 1970), completely replace both the old Constitution and Bylaws, an election of officers for 1975/76 was held. Although the new Bylaws provide for a mail vote, a proviso had been added to cover the current election and facilitate the transfer of association business. The elected officers for 1975/76 are: Richard Bowler President Don Crandall President-Elect Sandra Traicoff Secretary Carolyn Moore Treasurer Janice Bentley Director - 2 years Marian McGregor Director - 1 year The Bylaws, as passed at the Business Meeting, but minus Bylaws Committee comments, is printed below for the record. BYLAWS CHICAGO ASSOCIATION OF LAW LIBRARIES AS ADOPTED MAY 9, 1975 ARTICLE I NAME The name of this Association shall be the Chicago Association of Law Libraries, a chapter of the American Association of Law Libraries. ARTICLE II OBJECT The Association is established for educational and scientific purposes. It shall be conducted as a not-for-profit organization to promote librarianship and to de- velop and increase the usefulness of law libraries, particularly those in the midwestern states.
