CHICAGO LAW LIBRARY BULLETIN

                           CHICAGO ASSOCIATION OF LAW LIBRARIES

N0.52 April, 1974

                                         MAY MEETING

our last meeting of the season is the very important business meeting. It will be held
yriday, May 10, 1974, at the Chicago Bar Association, 29 South LaSalle Street. The good
cews from Gayle Edelman, chairwoman of the Meeting Committee, is the lower price--$4.00
this time. You will be receiving the usual reservation card shortly before the meeting.
Don't forget this Committee's plea for help (see the February, 1974, bulletin).

                                 EDUCATION COMMITTEE REPORT

Our newly formed Education Committee has tabulated the results of their questionnaire;
a copy of that tabulation is enclosed with this issue of the Bulletin. Sandi Traicoff
and Christine Brock, co-chairwomen of the Committee, will be putting together a sample
program for the Executive Boardts approval and would appreciate your suggestions and help.

The verbal presentation of th is report at the April meeting led to a healthy airing of
criticism and frank evaluation of CALL's program content and continuing education goals.
Unfortunately many of you were not there and so missed the opportunity to add your voice
to the discussion. However, as indicated above, the line of communication to the Educa-
tion Committee is still open. Check the directory for their addresses and send to either
of the co-chairwomen your suggestions, comments, criticisms and observations.

                                  HAVE YOU MOVED RECENTLY?

And speaking of directories, were you listed correctly in this year's issue of the CALL
directory (better known as the membership list)? Notify Mary V. Shields of any correc-
tions that should be made in future issues. Or of any changes. Have'you moved recently?
Changed your name? Changed Jobs? Let the Directory Committee chairwoman know.

                                     OTHER COMMITTEE NEWS

NOMINATING: Because not all acceptances had been received at press time, the slate of
nominees for next year's officers and directors could not be included with this bulletin,
but Chairwoman Joyce Malden promises a full report at the May meeting.

MMBERSHIP: ???????????? Chairwoman Charlotte Stillwell was out of town. On a vacation,
we hope..

PACEMENT: No flood of job openings can be reported by Carolyn Moore, but don't let that
stop you from registering with her if you are interested in a new job. There is a trickle
of placement possibilities'. Carolyn emphasized again how important it was t6' let her know
of any positions available in your library; she greatly appreciates such'information.

                                          A REMINDER

Do not forget to fill out the Committee interest questionnaire sent out by Vice Presi-
dent Alfred Kulys and return it to him very soon.
