MEETINGS The first meeting of our 1968-69 year was held on October 25 at the Chicago Bar Association and was presided over by President Joseph Benson. It was a suc- cessful meeting and our thanks are due to the Program Committee and, in particular, to its hardworking members, Carroll Moreland and Charlotte B. Stillwell. Members and visitors from several states made the trip to hear Gordon R. Williams, Director of the Center for Research Libraries, describe their legal holdings. For the bene- fit of those who were unable to attend, and also those who couldn't muster pen and paper, we are printing a brief outline below: CENTER FOR RESEARCH LIBRARIES (formerly MILC--Midwest Inter-Library Center) (It is described as a library's library) 5721 South Cottage Grove Avenue 955-4545 1. Briefs and Records of the U. S. Court of Appeals in the 2d, 3d, 4th, 6th, and 9th Circuits and also the District of Columbia (5th not avail- able; 1st, 7th and 8th they can borrow). 2. Circuit Court Briefs for the Federal District Courts sitting in New York (2d), Philadelphia (3d) and Richmond (4th). 3. Supreme Court Briefs and Records of the State of Wisconsin. 4. Collection of transcripts of all major American court cases involving Communism. 5. Transcript and records for international cases heard by the WW II Allied Commission for Austria. 6. Official Gazettes for over 100 countries' journals and regulations. 7. Corporation annual reports filed with the SEC and listed on the Midwest Stock Exchange (not current, 2 years old and older). 8. Insurance Companies doing business in Illinois. 9. Patents--small collection only--some French and Swedish. 10. State official publications such as Illinois (1952). No Sessions laws nor statutes. 11. U. S. War Labor Records. 12. U. S. bills and resolutions, lst-84th Congress. 13. U. S. newspapers (foreign-center administers only).
