Kelly, took place in Chicago, DePaul University College of Law, from June 28 to July 2. The Law Library and the services it renders were discussed from the point of view of various people: a dean, a professor, a director, a student, a practicing lawyer, a judge. At intervals law librarians gave their comments. The final account- ing: the past, present and future of law libraries completed the institute, which, left long lasting impressions. ANNUAL CONVENTION Annual convention of AALL was held at the Grand Hotel, Mackinac Island, from July 4 to July 7. Very different and beautiful setting, interesting professional program, dancing and entertainment made the convention very successful. The professional program will come to you in Law Library Journal, as usual. Mr. Forrest Drummond, Chairman of the Sub-Committee on Biographical Direc- tory, announced the proposed publication of A Biographical Directory of Law Librarians, which will be published by West Publishing Co. every other year. Com- merce Clearing House will continue to put out Law Libraries in the United States and Canada in the intervening years. The performance of the AALL players The Rule of Law Goes West was not way out, but right with us and lots of fun. The costumes were great. For the wind-up banquet, President Julius J. Marke made a speech on Information Retrieval--a successful variation of the usual program. SPECIAL EXHIBITS AT THE LAW SCHOOLS In honor of the 68th annual meeting of the American Bar Association, August 7-16, 1963, the University of Chicago Law Library had on display special exhibits, which included legal artifacts from the Near East; legal documents, letters and rare books; also selected publications of the Law School and faculty research projects. Etchings and engravings depicting legal profession at work completed the display. It was a rare occasion to take a glimpse into the past. Northwestern University Law Library. On the occasion of the centennial of the birth of John Henry Wigmore, Dean of Northwestern University School of Law from 1901 to 1929, the Law Library arranged a display of materials pertaining to Wigmore's life and works.
