                         PROFESSOR WILLIAM M. TRUtBUL of the Northwestern Uni-
             S           versity law faculty spoke on A New Approach to Methods of
                         Teaching Lawyers Professional Responsibility, at the
                         Nov. .21, 1958 luncheon meeting held in the Normandy House.
Some of the techniques he presented are profitably applicable to the teaching of
ethics in fields other than law. Prof. Trumbull, teacher, author, and lecturer is
an authority on the Illinois Judicial Article and Secretary of The Chicago Bar Asso-
ciation.

COMMITTEE ON COORDINATION   WHICH CONSISTS OF RERESENTATIVES of the four major law
OF LIBRARY RESOURCES        libraries in Chicago, met on December'5th and discussed
                            problems of acquisition in the field of British Common-
wealth materials. Established in 1947, the Committee has been primarily concerned
with a cooperative consideration of acquisition policies in order to strengthen the
combined resources of the Chicago law libraries and to avoid unnecessary duplication
of materials. William R. Roalfe continues as Chairman of the Committee which he has
headed since its establishment. The other- members of the Committee are Norman
Bursler, Frank DiCanio, John Leary, Charles A. McNabb, and Kurt Schwerin.

COMMITTEE ON MICROCOPY    CHARLS A. MoNABB flew to the meeting held in
        AALL              Rochester, New York, Oct. .29, 1958.

ANNUAL )MING      DURING TE ANIUAL MEETING OF TEE ASSOCIATION OF
     AM           American Law Schools members of the Chicago Association  
                  of Law Libraries met for an informal dinner with visiting
librarians on Dec. 30, at the Edgewater Beach Hotel. Represented were 2aw schools
from all parts of the country and nearly all schools in the area.

WORKSHOP - 3rd ANEAL     HIGHLIGHTING THE TWO-DAY PROGRAM WAS THE VISIT BY ERVIN H.
OCTOBER 24 & 25, 1958    POLLACK of Ohio State University and President of AALL.
                         Mr. Pollack spoke at the Friday Oct. .24, luncheon. Five
general sessions on library problems were held during the Workshop. The Association
is indebted to Miss Mildred Bruder of the Chicago Public Library and Mr. Edward G.
Strable of J. Walter Thompson Co., two non-members who participated in panels.

Porty-nine registrants representing six states attended, including:

Helene Miller, Univ. of Iowa, Ia. City, Ia.; Helen Winklepleck, Barnes, Hickam,
Pantzer & Boyd, Indianapolis, Ind.

The mimeographed proceedings are being distributed to all registrants and are
available to others at $3.00 per copy.
