CHICAGO ASSOCIATION OF LAW LIBRARIES MEETING TO BE HELD AT NOTRE DAME The next meeting of the Chicago Association of Law Libraries will be held at the University of Notre Dame. The date is Satur- day, April 28, 1956, Miss Marie Lawrence, Law Librarian at the Law Library at Notre Dame, has made arrangements for a luncheon in a private dining room at the Morris Inn on the Campus. Pro- visions are being made for a tour of the Law Library and other parts of the University. There are several means of transportation from Chicago to South Bend. The South Shore Line has trains leaving Chicago al- most every hour and arriving in South Bend in two hours and ten minutes. There is bus service from the station in South Bend direct to the Campus. Trains on the New York Central run less frequently but the trip takes only an hour and a half. It would be necessary to take a taxi to the Campus from the station in South Bend. By bus from the ChicAgo Greyhound Terminal at Clark and Randolph Streets in Chicarzo the trip takes three hours and the only available transportation from the station in South Bend to the Campus is by taxi. The Round-Trip fare by either train is $6.51 and $4.18 by bus. The trip by automobile on Route 20 is about ninety miles from Chicago to South Bend. Miss Dorothy Scarborough has more detailed information about how to reach the University of Notre Dame for those who expect to drive. Make your plans now to attend the meeting and take advan- tage of this opportunity to enlarge your knowledge of our member law libraries and to see the beautiful Notre Dame Campus in the spring. Husbands and wives are cordially invited. It is sug- gested that those driving to the meeting and having extra space offer to take other members thus making it possible to share ex- penses. Geer, Headquarters Librarian of the American Library Association, addressed the Chicago Chapter at a luncheon meeting of the Chicago Association of Law Libraries held on Fri- day, January 13, 1956. Miss Geer spoke briefly on the history and organization of the American Library Association and empha- sized the services which the Association is ready and willing to offer to law librarians. Foremost among these services are the professional bulletins, monographs, and treatises published by the Association and its component organizations. Of particular interest to law librarians was the recent SERIAL PUBLICATIONS by Andrew D. Osborn of the Harvard University Library.
