          CHARLES RALPH JOHNSTON OF THEY STAND ACCUSED FAME
                      ADDRESSES CHICAGO CHAPTER

          On Friday, October 28, 1955, Mr. Charles Ralph Johnston
 of the Chicago Bar and director of the television program They
 Stand Accused addressed the Chicafro Chqnter at a luncheon meet-
 ing of the Chicago Association of Law Lib raries held at the Norman-
 dy House.
          The President, Miss Dorothy Scarborough, was pleased to
 exhibit a gavel which was presented to the Chicago Chapter by Mrs,
 Marian G. Gallagher, immediate Past-President of the Americ.n As-
 sociation of Law Libraries.  An announcement also was made of an
 essay contest being sponsored by the parent association in connec-
 tion with the Golden Jubilee meeting of that Association in June
 of 1956.
          Miss Marie Lawrence, Law Librarian of the Law Library at
 Notre Dame University, extended an invitation to our local group
 to hold a meeting in the Spring of 1956 at Notre Dame University,
 The invitation was accepted and the date of the mceting is tenta-
 tively set for the last Saturday in April, 1956.

                        MANNA FROM HEAVEN

          The De Paulia, the chronicle of events at De Paul Unlver-
 sity, on October 21st last announced that De Paul University re-
 ceived Kimball Hall, an 18th story downtown skyscraper, as a gift
 from the Frank J. Lewis Foundation. This buildina will become
 the Downtown Center of De Paul University and 1will replace their
 present quarters located at 6L E. Lake Street.
          Cardinal Stritch formally dedicated Loyola University's
 new building for its school of law at 41 E. Pearson Street on Oc-
 tober 27th last. The building was purchased for the university
 by a number of donbr@ to whom the Rev. James F. Maguire, President
 of the University, paid special tribute,  Mr. John F. Cuneo, noted
 publishing executive Pnd philanthropist, mace the necessary down
 payment for the building in memory of his fnther, the late Frank
 Cuneo,

 Association of Law Libraries:

      Miss Louise Hammond of the 1-unicipal Court Library, Chicago.
      Mr. Michael Gafron of the liunicipal Court Library, Chicago.

      Mr. W. K. Alling of the National Law Library Appraisal As-
  aocia-ion has retired and resigned as a member of our association.
