There's been a lot of movement in the staffing of law libraries. Several of our most active members have retired or moved on or away to other challenges. (See the Peoples and Places column and Change in Direc-. tor notice for more details.) S:The AALL Annual Meeting in Anaheim briefly took many of us away from the daily routine in July. A report from our AALL Registration fee grantee, Diana Gleason, about her first experi- ence at the Annual Meeting, is in this issue. W 'ft % CALL's No-Host Dinner attracted some 31 people, allowing us to spend time with old friends who've moved away and colleagues whom we don't get to see to often here. 14 W04 0 A quorum of CALL members passed the much needed dues increase in March. Everyone's sup- port in passing this measure is greatly appreciated. I especially want to single out Laura Hyzy's efforts as Treasurer to keep us out of red ink territory. However, we still aren't out of the finan- cial woods yet. Your attendance of CALL's Business Meetings and Continuing Education 0 Programs during the coming year also provide monetary support, by covering the event's-costs or- actually raising revenue. Our Membership and Printing Committees have taken back the actual. work of maintaining CALL's membership list and printing out mailing labels. To borrow from Napoleon, a professional association marches on its members' involvement. To q contribute support of time and knowledge or to learn new skills, call any of CALL's committee chairs to find out if they need help. Or let Rebecca Corliss or me know if we can add your name,- to the call-me-for-help-with-a-one-time project list. By the time you receive this bulletin, many of you will have also received a survey, asking how , ~we can better meet your needs both time and cost Wise for meetings' and continuing education : programs and also how we can best make sure we are communicating with you.
