PRACTICING LAW, CLASS ACTIONS, TORTS

The Anatomy of a Lawsuit. Peter N. Simon. Rev.
ed. Charlottesville: Michie, 1996. 119 p.
ISBN 1 55834 320 2.

This book follows the case of
Rasmussen v Graham from accident to ap-
peal to the highest court of Colorado. It was
a case of negligence where the Plaintiff was
suing her friend for negligence while driving
an automobile. The author follows the case
from negotiation to commencement of the ac-
tion, to jury verdict, to appeal. The book in-
cludes the pleadings and is as good an intro-
duction to the law as any. Over the years there
have many books like this. The one I liked
best was the person suing to get his engage-
ment ring back when his affianced broke off

the engagement.
It is not only good for law students,
but trial lawyers should keep a copy in their
waiting room to let clients know what a law-
yer does with his and their time.
