handle is hein.journals/arbitinew1 and id is 1 raw text is: ARBITRATION NEWS Published Monthly by the Arbitration Society of America; Executive Offices, 115 Broadway, New York City Vol. I JANUARY, 1924 No. 1 EDITORIAL The Arbitration News, of which this number is the first, will be issued on or about the fifteenth day of each month hereafter. Its primary purpose is to keep all of our members fully in- formed alike on the work of the Arbitration Society of America, and on the kindred activities of all the trade and commercial bodies that are active in the arbitration movement. It will present the facts concisely. No space will be wasted in literary embroidery. The editing will be done by business men for business men. The effort will be to make the little publication a tabloid record of the activities of the entire nation-wide movement repre- sented by the Society, which will be absolutely reliable and valuably informative. It will tell our members from month to month just what the Society, and co-operating agencies, are doing, and planning to do. It will detail the progress made in the Society's Tribunal, and in its legisla.tive and educational work, and will strive to be scrup- ulously accurate in the presentation of the facts. The first issue of the Arbitration News must not be taken as a sample of issues to follow. It is in the nature of a report on the work of the Society from the date of its incorporation, May 12, 1922. Due to fixed space limitations it is only a summary, but one, we feel, that will gratify'our members and fully justify, not only their support of the Society, but, also the growing interest of the business community in Arbitration. In subsequent editions, the Arbitration News will vindicate its title as best it can. As stated above, it will publish not only the news of the Society, but all the news of the Arbitration movement that can be gathered. In this work, it will need active co-operation and, to that end, every trade and commercial organization that is operating arbitra- tion machinery of its own, has been requested to contribute, regularly, interesting and instructive data. Our members, and all friends of Arbitration, are cordially in- vited to use the publication as a Forum for the discussion of Arbitration topics. They are also requested to contribute facts for publication, and suggestions for the improvement of the little periodical. Speedy enlargement will be necessary if the Arbitration News receives the co-operation it hopes for. If it does, the size of this publication-which now makes a very modest first appearance in a field heretofore uncovered-will keep pace with the require- ments. Of this our members and friends may rest assured.
