Denver, Queen City of the Plains,
will offer participants at the ABA/YLD
Affiliate Outreach Project Regional
Meeting a Rocky Mountain High
and a hearty Western welcome Friday
and Saturday, November 13 and 14,
1981. Your base of operations, for the
two-day meeting, will be the Brown
Palace Hotel in downtown Denver
with its nineteenth century charm,
oak interior and stained glass roof.
The Affiliate Outreach Programs
are specifically designed for affiliate
groups throughout the country. The
opening session will begin at 10 a.m.
on Friday. The project presentations
are geared toward increasing the
visibility of existing Affiliate pro-
grams as well as providing the tools
to create successful new ones.
Barbara Mendel, Affiliate Out-
reach Project Director and J. Frank
McKenna, Regional Meetings Chair-
person are planning to present one
and one-half days of informative,
thought-provoking ideas to the 150 or
more Young Lawyer leaders who are
expected to attend.
The ABA/YLD will provide partici-
pants with up to $65 per diem for
each of the two days for hotel and
food expenses during the two-day
meeting. Each affiliate group may
receive the per diem for as many as
three participants at the Denver Af-
filiate Outreach Regional Meeting.
McKenna has scheduled programs
which will provide these participants
with an overview of the ABA/YLD and
the Affiliate Outreach Program.

give a presentation on Community
Law Week, one of the Division's most
far reaching pro bono and public out-

reach services. Legal assistance to
battered women, child advocacy and
public interest malpractice issues will
be presented.
Project presentations of successful
affiliate programs will include ser-
vices to the profession, the economics
of starting a law practice, and the
creation of alternative dispute resolu-
tion centers. Experts in the fields will
be dealing with issues concerning the
problems of minority lawyers and the
ethics of lawyer advertising.
In addition to the Affiliate Out-
reach presentations, the ABA/YLD
Minorities in the Profession Commit-
tee will sponsor its Conference on
the Practice of Minority Lawyers in
the Future on Saturday afternoon.
This program will take place at the
Brown Palace and has been scheduled
so that participants may attend both

meetings without time conflicts. Af-
filiates interested in attending the Bar
Leadership Institute, or in having proj-
ect assistance or visitation assistance
from the Affiliate Outreach Project
will be able to talk with Bar leaders
about these projects at the Regional
Meeting.
The meeting in Denver will be
amply spiced with social activities
and fun in the Colorado capital. The
Rodeo, a large country-western swing
disco and bar will be available
without charge to participants at the
Affiliate meetings during their stay in
Denver. The Denver Bar Association
Young Lawyers Host Committee has
planned several events which reflect
the Western air of Colorado. On Fri-
day evening, following the Affiliate
Outreach presentations, a cocktail
