One-stop shopping is how Rick Bien, the Affiliate Outreach Proj- ect's (AOP) director, describes this year's AOP. The rationale is simple. With the inclusion of what was for- merly the Membership Support Network (MSN) into the AOP, the ABA Young Lawyers Division (YLD) can now provide affiliate leaders with everything they need to operate a productive affiliate from one source-the AOP. Much has been written and dis- cussed about the MSN-AOP merger, and Pamela Roberts, YLD Chair, has stressed that effectively merging the MSN and AOP will be her administration's primary objective. That's good news for bar leaders who are charged with running ef- ficient and effective affiliates. Pamela Roberts hopes that the new AOP will make it easier for affili- ates of all sizes and budgets to take advantage of the AOP's substantial resources. Thus, affiliate leaders who are nagged by those inevitable ques- tions (What have I gotten myself into? What should be my affili- ate's goals and objectives and how can they be achieved?), help is now easier to obtain than ever before. From public service project infor- mation, to membership support program ideas, to bar management guidance, the AOP has it all. Don't Reinvent the Wheel! At the beginning of every bar year, all affiliate leaders are faced with the same dilemma-what type of projects or programs should the af- filiate implement? The AOP is the place to start for a wealth of ideas and resources to implement them.
