ROBERT W. SACOFF, CHAIR: Ladies and Gentlemen, if you would please take your

Good morning, I would like to welcome each and every one of you to the ABA Section
of Intellectual Property Law's Summer IPL Conference. It's great to be here in the
beautiful city of Toronto and it's great to welcome friends and colleagues.
Introductions at the head table, I am Bob Sacoff, I'm the Chair of the Section of
Intellectual Property Law. Seated to my left is Morton David Goldberg, the Section's
parliamentarian. Seated next to him is William LaFuze, our Section Chair-Elect. Next to
him is Bill is Tony Figg, our Section's Vice-Chair. Next to Tony is Joseph Potenza, our
Section's Secretary and at the end is Hayden Gregory, our Section's Legislative Liaison.
I was also like to introduce Betsi Roach who is always making things happen in the back
of the room there. Betsi Roach is our Staff Director and along with Mike Winkler, her
assistant, they are the people that really make these meetings happen along with Hayden
Gregory who keeps us connected to Capital Hill and often to the rest of the American Bar

As a sort of housekeeping announcement I wish to point out that this business session
makes attendance eligible for continuing legal education credits. If you wish to claim
CLE please see the folks that are seated outside at the registration desk and they will help
you satisfy and get documentation of your continuing legal education points.
It is customary at this time for us to take a moment and remember Section Members who
have past away during the year. I would ask our secretary, Joe Potenza to please read
that list.
