At the request of ('rank Hugho CI/OPS, and Coe Burk) CI/R&A, - AMMUG-I was queistioned on 16 and 17 July by Barney IlidAlgo of '/SA/CI to shed whatever additional light he could on the question of the Soviet origin of the sweepers In the pouaeesion of the Cuban L S. mentioned in the above reference. 2. Hidalgo drow the attached beKtch of the equipment in question from AMMUG l's description. Additional comments and details follow: a. 'A-1 saw this piece of equipment only once, in the MI Section (technical shop) of the DGI where he went occasslonally in connection with S/W matter and concealment devices. The room did not have other commo gear, batteries, radius, earphones, I etc. Also, this was the only piece of this equipment in the room at the time he saw it. b. A-I was told by DGI techndclans that thin piece of equipment was the same type as :that used at the Cuban Embasny, London, in July 1963 ti the discovery of a hot muike and microphones. They also razerred to this oquipment as being from the Soviets. °3 3. The foregoing. information was passed orally to Mr. (BurI4) C/R&A, on 17 July.
