He said Somosa's apparent purpose in arranging the luncheon, for it had been-upor Somosa's initiative that they had gotten together, was to discuss certain Cuban refugees who seem to be gearing up for aetion in regard to the question of Cuban liberation. I asked after nanes and Subject cited eciana, Batista Falla, and AMIDDIYl, stating that theee were che names Somosa had thrown out during discussion. I.asked Subject to tell me That he had said in regard to eaca and attepted-to elicit 'S5mosa's own- views on. each of these personalities. Pertinent for the record is the fact tnat Subject declared to Somosa teat ANBIDDY-1 warn, in his owu view, a very questionable fellow for two reasonsa the first, he was overly cocky and inordinately ambitious and, secondly, he comes from a pro-couuunist family. In an attespt to determine Soansa's views on ALIDDY-1, I requested that Subject define ore precisely weat he meant by coznmnist family, but was unable to obtain a neaningful response. I asked Subject if in the last instance it simply didn't boil dow'i to the fact that he just didn't like MDDT and he agreed that tnis :ight well be the case. Along the line Subject stated that Somosa had simply been thinking of taking up some sort of contact with A13IDD-1. I did not press for further details in view of my presumption that there was probably some special sort of relationship between Somosa and AI9IDDY-1, the nsture of which it sould be unealtthy for Subject . to know ii , a- eS / I /Cl t t 1i.( t i 2. nhose portions of the phone c1li devoted to ANBIDDY-1 did not bear the nae proportions to the. hole as the discussion ?O A0IDDZ-1 does to this report. Tie bulk of the conversation concerned inquiries on my part into the depth and nature of Subject's relationship with Somosa.
