     1.  A routine name check was.conducted o Salvatore
8iascana with negative results. A check was then made with
the Office of Security to deteruine whether-their records
reflected that.one Salvatore Giancana was. ever employed by
CIA as alleged in the referenced ChIS   Tr hrlb article of
31 December 1973.  We were advise  that any nquires  con-
verning this matter s'oauld be made to Mr. Brecktnridge,
Deputy  Inspector General.  HICOS touched base with Mr.
Breck nridge who said that he had received. a copy of the
referenced article.
