Photographic Copies of Drawings.
The Patent Office is now prepared to furnish black line on
white ground copies of any unbound drawing, foreign or domes-
tic, which may be in its possession, instead of the blue-prints
heretofore furnished. Only the 8x12j (patent) size and the full
or l0xl5 size prints will hereafter be furnished, at 15 and 25 cents
per sheet, respectively.
Copies of drawings of pending, abandoned, forfeited, or Infor-
mal cases and of caveats may be had in either of the above-named
sizes except when they are to be certified, in which case they must
be the 1Oxl5 size.
Copies of United States or foreign patent 'drawings will be
made only in the 10x15 size.
When ordering copies of foreign patent drawings, either the
serial number of the applications in which they were cited as
references or the class and subclass where they may be found
must be given. The title of the invention or the number of the
division will not be sufficient. Bound volumes cannot be used
for making prints. Failure to give the fullest data whereby the
mounted drawin5 may be found will result in delay and unnec-
essary correspondence.
The work will be much facilitated if a separate order be made
for each drawing. The Office will furnish, gratuitously, blanks
for this purpose on request.
As a result of abolishing the small (5x8) size the requirement
that duplicate prints must be ordered in certain cases will no
longer be enforced. The requirement that less than all the sheets
of a case will not be printed unless there is already a full set In
the file will not be insisted upon; but applicants or attorneys are
strongly urged to file a set of prints or order them to be made by
the Office at the time of filing an application. Such procedure
will save delay later If correction of the drawing is desired or
required.
Date of Patent,
RULE 207. The weekly issue closes on Thursday, and the pat-
ents of that Issue bear date as of the fourth Tuesday thereafter.
If the final fee in any application Is not paid on or before Thurs-
day, the patent will not go to issue until the following week.
