An act to provide a civil government for the Virgin Is-
lands of the United States.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
of the United States of America in Congress assemnbled,
That the provisions of this Act, and the name the Virgin
Islands as used in this Act, shall apply to and include
the territorial domain, lands and waters acquired by the
United States through cession of the Danish West Indian
Islands by the convention between the United States of
American and His Majesty the King of Denmark entered
into Augurt 4. 1916. and ratified by the Senate on Sep-
lember 7, 1916 (39 Stat. L. 1706).

Sec. 18.  **        The laws of the United States relat-
Ing to patents, trade marks, and copyrights, and to the
enforcement of rights arising thereunder, shall have the
same force and effect in the Virgin Islands as in the con-
tinental United States, and the District Court of theVirgin
Islands shall have the same jurisdiction in causes arising
under such laws as is exercised by the United Slates
district courts.

Adverse Decisions in Interference
In interferences involving the indicated claims of the
following patents final decisions have been rendered that
the respective patentees were not the first inventors with
respect to the claims listed:
Pat. 1,869,172, B. F. Schwalm, Compounding rubber, de-
cided July 2, 1936, claims 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Pat. 1,972,150, F. G. Kraft, Spindle, decided July 7,
1936. claims 4, 5, and 6.
Pat. 1,972,595, W. L. Libby, Automatic cut-off machine,
decided July 8, 1936, claims 9 and 10.
Pat. 1,989,590, Irving Florman, Container, decided
July 3, 1936, claim 1.
Changes in Classification
Order No. 3,362, July 14, 1936, directs:
In class 71, Fertilizers (Division 59), change the title
of the class to read 71, Chemistry, Fertilizers, abolish
the existing subclass titles, and establish in lieu thereof
the subclasses now being printed for Insertion In the Manual
of Classification, and definitions which will appear In
Bulletin No. 71.

Trade-Marks-Use of Coat of Arms of Swiss
Confederation

An Act to prohibit the commercial use of the coat of arms
of the Swiss Confederation pursuant to the obligation
of the Government of the United States under article
28 of the Red Cross Convention signed at Geneva July
27. 1929.
Be it enacted by the Senate and Hoase of Reprseta-
tires of the United States of America in Congress as-
sembe, That it shall be unlawful, for any person, partner-
sip. incorporated or unincorporated company, or associa-
tion within the jurisdiction of the United States to use,
whether as a trade mark, commercial label, or portion
thereof, or as an advertisement or insignia for any busi-
ness or organization or for any trade or commercial pur-
pose. ti'e coat of arms of the Swiss Confederation, con-
sifting of an upright white cross with equal arms and lines
on a rd ground, or any simulation thereof; Provided, That
no person, corporation, or association that actually used
or whose assignors actually used a design or insignia
identical with or similar to that described herein for any
lawful purpose for ten years next preceding the effective
date of this Act shall be deemed forbidden to continue
the use thereof for the same purpose.
Sec. 2. Any person who willfully violates the provisions
of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and
upon conviction shall be liable to a fine of not exceeding
$500 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year,
or both.
