The middle tones should be Interpreted by sharp dots of intense black In the ease of shaded color designs, the following should he the process for making the printa s: A negative is made on a pnchromatic dry plate through a suitable filter to bring out the various shades in the design. From this negative a halftone screen positive is made by the wet plate process, the ruling of the screen to be 65 lines per inch. From this positive a negative is made in film by contact printing in a vacuum frame, from which negative the finished print on Bristol board is made. THOMAS E. ROBERTSON, Commissioner. They require nothing but the iling in of the patent number, the name of the inventor, the date of issue, and the name and address of the party desiring the service.
