An act to amend section 5 of the Trade-Mark Act of 1905,
as amended, relative     to  Zhe  unauthorized   use  of
portraits.
lie it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives
of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
That the fourth proviso of subdivision (b) of section 5 of
the act entitled An act to authorize the registration of
trade-marks used in commerce with foreign nations or
among the several States or with Indian tribes, and to
protect the same, approved February 20, 1905, as amended,
is amended to read as follows: Provided further, That
no portrait of a living individual may be registered as a
trade-mark except by the consent of such individual. evi-
denced by an instrument in writing, nor may the portrait
of any deceased P'resident of the United States be regis-
tered during the life of his widow, if any, except by the
consent of the widow evidenced in such manner.
