INO MACHINE. Patent dated October 31, 1922. Dis-
claimer filed January 22, 1924, by the assignee,
United Shoe Machinery Corporation.
Hereby enters this disclaimer-
To said claims 3, 4, 5, and 16 of said Letters Patent,
which are in the following words, to wit :
 3. A device for setting eyelets in one of a plurality of
layers of a flexible material, said device comprising an
anvil and a co-operating setting device having a project-
ing setting-shoulder and a contracted portion above the
setting-shoulder.
 4. An eyelet setting device consisting of means for
setting eyelets in one of the outside layers of a plurality
of layers of material, comprising a lower anvil, an eyelet
positioning device and an upper setting device having a
slightly projected setting-shoulder and a contracted por-
tion above the setting-shoulder.
 5. The combination of a punching and eyelet setting
device for setting eyelets in one or more of the layers of
a plurality of layers of material, comprising a punch and
a setting device having a projecting setting-shoulder and
a contracted portion above the setting-shoulder.
 16. In a machine for setting Invisible eyelets in one
or more of the layers of a plurality of layers of materials,
a die for inserting an eyelet through a hole punched In
one or more of said layers, and an upsetting die having
a shouldered projection forming a base portion and a
reduced portion, the reduced portion being constructed
and arranged, during the clenching operation, to extend
into said last-named layer or layers while the base por-
tion extends through the other of said layers, said other
of said layers being an outer layer, and an upsetting
surface formed by the transverse surface of the shoulder
between the base and the reduced portion.
