Renewal of Forfeited Cases.
A petition for the renewal of a forfeited application need
not be signed by the inventor or assignee, but may be
aigned by the attorney.
A power of attorney In the original application authoriz-
ing an attorney to transact all business in the Patent
Office In connection with the application construed to be of
sufficIent scope to include the signing of a petition for
renewal and the subsequent prosecution of the application.

The Official Gazette.
Tas OFFICIAL GAZETTE is published every Tuesday si-
multaneously with the weekly issue of patents. From Jan-
unry 1, 1872 (the commencement of its publica.tion,) to
June 30, 188A, it was published and bound in semi-annual
volumes; from July 1, 1883, to December 31, 1902, in
quarterly volumes; from January 1, 1903, to December 31,
1908, In bimonthly volumes; since January 1, 1909, in

monthly volumes. Terms: Annual subscriptions, $5;
monthly, 50 cents. For postage upon foreign subscrip-
tions, except those from Canada and Mexico, $5 or more
as required. Moneys received from foreign subscribers in
excess of the subscription price of $5 will be deposited to
the credit of the subscriber and applied to postage upon
the subscription as incurred. Single copies, 10 cents; if
mailed to foreign countries, excepting Canada and lexico,
10 cents additional for postage. Paynent in advance re-
quired. No club rates. No discount to newsdealers. No
sample copies. All subscriptions must commence with the
beginning of a volume. None taken for less than an en-
tire volume. All orders should be addressed to The
Superintendent of Documents, Government Printing Office,
Washington, D. C.

for Issue.)
Original specification. (Facsimile at present time.)
FIle-wrapper. (File-wrapper only.)
File-wrapper and contents. (File-wrapper, contents of
record, including photoprints of any tracings or of
prints within file-wrapper. In patented cases, printed
copy of the specification and drawings of the patent
is furnished.)
File-wrapper contents, and drawings. (File-wrapper
and all of the contents of record, Including photo-
prints of any tracings exhibits, or prints within the
tile-wrapper. In pending cases, photoprints of the
pending drawings only, omitting any canceled.  If
patented, copy of the specification and drawings of
the patent be ng furnished, photoprints are not made
of the original drawings unless specially ordered. If
canceled drawings are wanted, they must also be
specially ordered.)
Assignment. (Give the liber and page of the record as
well as the name of the Inventor.)
Printed publications In possession of the Office. (Give
title and date of publication, also page and exact
portion to be copied.)
Orders for copies of any other records not mentioned
above must state specifically the exact paper to be copied.

NOTICE.-CHANGES IN PATENT OFFICE FEES-EFFECTIVE APRIL 19, 1922.
The act of Congress approved February 18, 1922, amends section 4934,
Revised Statutes, so as to provide a fee on filing each original application
for a patent, except in design cases, of $20 instead of the present fee of $15.
The act also provides, in addition to the present fees for recording assign-
ments or other papers, that there shall be paid for each additional patent or
application included or involved in one writing, where more than one is so
included or involved, 25 cents additional.
.   These new fees are effective on and after April 19, 1922.
Applications for patent, except in design cases, received on or after April
19, 1922, with only $15 filing fee will not be entered, but will le given a filing
date and serial number as of the day the full fee of $20 is received by the
-Office.
