Reciprocity of Australian Laws.
(ORDER No. 2,666.)
DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR,
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE,
Washington, D. C., June 9, 1921.
Evidence has been submitted which satisfactorily es-
tablishes the fact that under Australian laws and regu-
lations citizens of the United States are granted ex-
tensions of time as to priority rights and as to fulfilling
other obligations upon a showing that the applicant or
patentee was prevented from doing the required act or
filing the required document by reason of circumstances
arising from the state of war. In view thereof exten-
sions of time under sections 1 and 2 of the Nolan Act of
March 3, 1921, (41 Stat. L., 1313,) will be granted to
citizens of Australia when it is shown that applicant was
prevented from filing an application or from paying .a
fee or taking a required action with respect to an appli-
cation for patent by reason of circumstances arising from
the state of war. This order is subject to modification
in accordance with any further showing which may be
made satisfactorily establishing an extension of the privi-
leges now accorded by Australian laws, regulations, or
practice in favor of citizens of the United States.
