An interference having been declared by this Office be-
tween the application of The Adlerika Company, 98 and
100 South Wabasha street, St. Paul, Minn., for registra-
lion of a trade-mark and trade-mark registered May 18,
1897, No. 30,036, to Frank Adams, 51 Broad street, New
York, N: Y  and a notice of such declaration sent by reg-
Istered mail to said Frank Adams at the said address hav-
ing been returned by the post-oflice undeliverable, notice Is
hereby given that unless said Frank Adams, his assigns or
legal representatives, shall enter an appearance therein
within thirty days from the first publication of this order
the interference will be proceeded- with as in case of
default
This notice will be published in the OFFICIAL GAZETTE
for three consecutive weeks.

AMENDMENT TO PATENT LAWS-PAYMENT OFIFEES.

Attention is directed to the following excerpt from the deficiency appropria-
tion act, approved March 6, 1920.

Acting Commissioner.
Hereafter all patent fees shall be paid to the Commissioner of Pitents, who
shall deposit the same in the Treasury of the United States in such manner as
the Secretary of the Treasury shall direct, and said Commissioner is authorized
to pay back any sum or sums of money paid to him by any person by mistake or
in excess of the fee required by law.
ASSISTANT EXAMINERS TWA.NTED.
A number of vacancies exist in the grade of Fourth Assistant Examiner in the Patent OIme,
which it is desired to fill with persons having a good education and training along scientlile 1ines,
especially In the subjects mathematics, French or German, chemistry, physics, mechanical drawing,
and engineering.
Civil-service examinations for the position are announced for April 7-9, May 5-7, and June 9-11.
The salary Is $1,500, plus a bonus of 8240 per year to permanent appointees. Promotionsxo higher
grades follow as the assistant's ability and knowledge of the examining work Is demonstrated.
Announcements or the stated entrance examinations, giving the scope of the same, and applica-
tion papers therefor may be obtained by addressing the Civil Service Commission, Washington, D. C.
