Custody of Index of Chemical Literature.

The Index of Chemical Literature, compiled and hereto-
fore maintained in the Classification Division, is hereby
transferred to the custody and jurisdiction of the Libra-
rian, who is hereby authorized to continue, in his dis-
cretion, the compilation only of the  formula  portion
of the Index, together with selected articles from chemical
and other scientific journals chosen to fit the needs of the
Examining Corps.

Warren E. Smith, hi8 assigns or legal representatives,
take notice:
An interference having been declared by this Office be-
tween the application of Kling Bros. & Co., 411-415 South
Fifth avenue, Chicago, Ill., for registration of a trade-
mark and trade-mark registered February 28, 1893, No.

22.521, to Warren E. Smith, 49 Lafayette Place, New
York, N. Y., and a notice of such declaration sent by regis-
tered mail to said Warren E. Smith at the said address
having been returned by the post-office undeliverable, no-
tice is hereby given that unless said Warren E. Smith, his
assigns or legal representatives, shall enter an appearance
therein within thirty days from the first publication of
this order the interference will be proceeded with as in
case of default.
This notice will be published in the OFFICIAL GAZETTE
for three consecutive weeks.

tween the application of L. 0. Spindler, Produce Exchange,
New York, N. Y., for registration of a trade-mark and
trade-mark registered May 17, 1887, No. 14,409, to Anton
Kufeke, Glasgow, Scotland, and a notice of such declara-
tion sent by registered mail to said Anton Kufeke at the
said address having -been returned by the post-office un-
deliverable, notice is hereby given that unless said Anton
Kufeke, his assigns or legal representatives, shall enter
an appearance therein within thirty days from the first
publication of this order the interference will be proceeded
with as in case of default.
This notice will bepublished in the OFFICIAL GAZETTE

Adverse Decisions in Interference,
PATENT NO. 1,096,048.
On March 30, 1917, a decision was rendered that John
Lewis Milton was not the first Inventor of the subject-
matter covered by claims 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 of his Pat-
ent No. 1,096,048, subject, Magneto-generators, and no
appeal having been taken within the time allowed such
decision has become final.
Examiners' Letters and Amendments
Examiners are directed to recite in each letter in an
application the date of the action by the applicant to
which it is a reply, and applicants are requested to indi-
cate -in their actions on an application the date of the
last Office letter.
Date of Patent.
RULE 207. The weekly issue closes on Thursday, and
the patents of that issue bear date as of the fourth Tues-
day thereafter. If the final fee in any application is not
paid on or before Thursday, the patent will not go to
issue until the following week.
