Bids were opened an JIune 30, 1971. The contract required use of speclii types of equipuiento and the bid forma provide& spes a r bidders to Insert their rental rates per month tor this eq~iiment, as well as their pickup rate per month. Disposowaste's bid unfer Item IA cootained a monthly rental of $199 and a zmthly pickup rate of $149 for 4i-cubic yard containers. -in considering the bi-d, the tontrscting officer vas rat alerted to aiV discrepumc in the Item bid prices. .Unce Disposowaste' was the only biderj, it vas avarded the contract on July 2, 1971. Upon receipt -of this notificatiwn, Disposovaste submitted a letter dated July 18, 1972, alleging that it had made a mistake in bid, and clairting It hW first noticed the mistake upon receipt of CDC's July 13 letter.
