Our review was directed principally to administrative pro- cedures and internal controls over receipts and disbursements. The review, which was completed in July 1970, included examinations of payroll transactions for selected periods. In addition, we reviewed working papers and the related report covering the most recent audit performed by representatives of the VA Controller. This audit, which covered the period March 20, 1967 through May 27, 1969, was used to reduce our review in two areas. The controls, procedures and financial transactions that we reviewed were considered to be satisfactory. In accordance with 8 GAD 13, the records of financial tran- sactions through June 30, 1970, may be transmitted to the Federal Records Center in accordance with your records management program. We wish to acknowledge the courtesy and cooperation extended to our representatives during the review.
